“Deutsches” Flugelhorn, 4 rotary valves

“Deutsches” Flugelhorn, 4 rotary valves

Deutsches Flügelhorn, 4 Zylinder-Ventile

Special features of the instrument:
The classic “Deutsches” Flugelhorn was further expanded at the lower end by the 4th valve and the quart valve/quint crook with trigger and Pitchfinder respectively. 4-5 octaves can be played purely. Thanks to the sound plate and the moderate wall thickness, the mighty sound is still transparent and easy to control.

Annotation:
The sound of the flugelhorn with a rotary valve machine resembles that of an instrument with perinet valves but it is even more subdued. Since it is also equipped with overblowing keys it is also well suitable for Mahler’s post horn solo, for example. In addition, many of the “Bandas” in Verdi’s operas are scored for flugelhorn which can be very well be realised with this instrument.
