Wooden trumpet Tristan, 1 perinet valve

Wooden trumpet Tristan, 1 perinet valve

Tristan-Trompete

Special features of the instrument:
Long Special trumpet made of wood for the 3rd act of Wagner’s Opera “Tristan und Isolde”. This instrument was designed for the Hamburg State Opera, and it is also used in Switzerland, Amsterdam, Berlin and Dresden.

Annotation:
These instruments usually built with a wooden cladding. For a “Tristan” production, the Thein Brothers carried out an experiment in using a pure wooden bell which far better represents the sound expected by Wagner.
Wagner planned this instrument as an expansion to the sound of the English Horn, which we also approach by using the specially designed mouthpiece with a large bore.
